Keynote Address by PERDIM PRESIDENT

Perdim is the Organization of Malaysian Muslim Doctors and its establishment is very important as it marks a page in history whereby for the first time, Muslim doctors in Malaysia are unified under one roof for the collective well-being and for the benefit of the nation’s ummah.

It’s core value is based on directions and goals that are in harmony with the Islamic core values in which the syahadah (testimony) and iman (faith) form the backbone of our labours and direct our every step. Let us be united and steadfast in His mercy. Such is the words of wisdom.

VISION

To enhance the implementation of “Healthcare system is still made affordable to all Malaysians” in the private clinics

MISSION

To improve and enhance the system of private clinics in terms of professionalism and services rendered.

The Goals of Establishment of Pertubuhan Doktor-doktor Islam Malaysia (PERDIM)

Unite Malaysian Muslim doctors in one place for the well-being of the ummah
Maintain the welfare of members and medical professionals and practices
Be a liaison to all Islamic professional entrepreneurs from all over the world in this country and throughout the world towards the unification of the ummah
Become a catalyst and facilitator for cooperation with various organizations and associations of accredited doctors in Malaysia and abroad in programs related to the medical profession and committed towards finding the solutions for various health problems according to the Islamic perspective.

THE MEANING OF PERDIM LOGO

1. The Flower Petals

the petals are the symbol of unification of the ummah. Flowers that seem to be blooming symbolizes something that is blooming and progressive. The blue color in the flower petals symbolizes unity and solidity while green is symbolic of the Islamic theme. In summary, it symbolizes the unity and cohesion of Muslims.

2. Circle in The Middle.

The circle is symbolic of the spherical or rounded shape of the earth. Circles are chosen to symbolize universal or universal unity in a borderless world.

3. PERDIM

The acronym for the Organization of Malaysian Muslim Doctors.

4. Stethoscope

A symbol representing members in the association and also the founder of the association itself.

5. Heart Shape

Symbolizing the affection of fellow experts and human beings. Compassion in its universal form with no geographical and cultural nor ethnic boundaries.

6. The Syahadah

The core and spirit of the souls of all Muslims because when one wants to believe in Allah and the apostle, the first thing to say is the words of syahadah.

In summary, all Muslims need to support and uphold the syahadah in everyday life. As such, it is chosen to be placed in the banner, because the nature of the
flag is usually held upright.

KENYATAAN AKHBAR PERDIM UNTUK ISU PROGRAM PARALLEL PATHWAY

Terlebih dahulu PERDIM sebagai Pertubuhan Doktor-Doktor Islam Malaysia yang mewakili para Pengamal Perubatan Am (General Practitioners) di klinik-klinik swasta di seluruh negara ingin menegaskan bahawa kami hanya ingin memberikan pandangan di sudut perkhidmatan kami berkaitan isu yang masih hangat diperkatakan ketika ini iaitu program Parallel Pathway.

Oleh kerana isu ini masih di dalam prosiding mahkamah, maka kami tidak akan menyentuh tentang aspek perundangan mahupun pengiktirafan program ini oleh MQA dan MMC. Apa yang kami ingin suarakan di sini adalah lebih bersifat umum yang melibatkan program Parallel Pathway ini untuk latihan kepakaran terutamanya di bidang Perubatan Keluarga (Family Medicine).

Kesimpulannya

PERDIM menyokong sebarang usaha yang dilakukan oleh pihak Kementerian Kesihatan dalam meminda Akta Perubatan 1971 yang berkaitan bagi membolehkan program-program Parallel Pathway untuk semua jenis kepakaran dapat diperkasakan lagi tanpa halangan dari segi perundangan dan pengiktirafan agar negara akan dapat menghasilkan lebih ramai doktor pakar pelbagai bidang di masa depan disamping tidak mengetepikan ciri-ciri kualiti, akreditasi, keselamatan dan kecemerlangan para graduan yang bakal dilahirkan kelak.
